The rubber used for the tires on the G is very soft...good performance wise but will not hold a shine. It will not allow the silicone fluid to bond to the tire easily.

I use TireWet and it works ok. the best thing to do is to clean them with a brush then completely dry them. Spray on a thick coat of tire wet and then let it soak for about 20 min (should be dripping). Take a white cloth and wipe off the excess and then spray on another light coat that will not spray up onto the car, and your tires will look amazing.

Hope this helps

Shouldn't this be in the detailing section?

Yes it should, but since we're already here . . .

IMHO, tires really should look natural and not "shine" with that wet slick look. I use a rubber cleaner first to clean the tires, then use a rubber dressing to dress the tires to keep the rubber soft and new looking. I clean and dress them when I wash my car which is about twice a month (my car is garage kept and I live in a great climate for cars). If you look at any truly new tire, it does not shine.

I use Griot's Garage products, so check out their website. Hope this helps.

I have a 04 x and I have found that if you have a baby like I do when you put the carrier in the base and you have tire shine on your pant leg gets tire treads in them so I don't use the stuff. But if you want some good stuff meguires in the airosoul can is great stuff.

I've never been able to find it, but at a car show one time I borrowed a guys Meguires foam spray tire shine, not only did my tires look wet and shiney, it wasnt runny and NOTHING sprayed up on my car. Its like a too good to be true tire shine, but I've never been able to find a can of it at the stores.

I use the mequires NTX tech protectant. If it doesnt rain it lasts for about a week. If it gets wet just a couple of days. Its 10x better that armour all but its like 6-7 bucks but lasts alot longer so a good deal IMO.

Zaino's Tire Gloss is shiny but not extremely 'wet' looking, and no tire sling at all.

Best tire dressing I've found is Eimann-Fabrik Black Sapphire Tire Gel.

make sure you let the tire dry fully after washing it or the tire gel wont bond with the tire and they wont be shiny and have that new car shiny look to it... wait till the tire is DRY then apply the spray/gel and you can always do a double application after 20-30 mins
