Headlights - Cleaning what appears to be seepage?

Need some help identifying the cause and best solution to the film you can kind of see in the pic (best i could get, a direct shot would reflect the housing and wouldn't show the film). 06 Coupe. I've never had any hazing, any yellowing and i've owned the car since new. But over the past year or so, I've noticed the film you see at the edge of the light. Looks like some liquid got inside at the seam, but it hasn't changed in a year. Wouldn't a crack continue to let junk in? I want to clean it but wouldn't popping open the lights make it impossible to get stuff out from then on?

There's a DIY headlight removal thread, you could try it or find a member in your area that has painted his/her headlights that could help you. Some members think nothing of popping headlights in the oven and fixing everything, scares the **** out of me!

Yeah, popping the lights is what scares me.

The thing is that it seems like it's on the underside, not haze, or at least haze i'm familiar with. That and it hasn't changed shape in a year. It's only 7 years old, and I've seen much worse on much newer. I've always heard that once the insides are exposed you have to be more meticulous on cleaning which is why I'm scared of breaking the seal Don't want to have to start a maintenance schedule that I don't have to.
