I left my car parked at Coachella for 4 days, only to come back to my car with a dent on the fender. I was looking around for some dent mobile repair people and was quoted an average of 300-450 to remove the dent and repaint my fender and front bumper. Not sure how well it will be repaired so just looking to get an idea if he removes the dent will it look good? Haha thanks.

You can always get his opinion. I'm no expert, but maybe he has some suggestions.

If it's peeling paint already it's going to need a repaint, pretty sure. What you can maybe do to avoid painting at this time is get the dent fixed and perhaps wet sand with very fine grit. Dunno if that'll help or not. Another option is a new fender, maybe one at a junkyard.

I was having a PITA time trying to find an ECU for my 06 sedan with Navi. It was very specific because of that year (bluetooth) and navi and it was only one year they made it. My mechanic couldn't find anything, but this place had one and the price was reasonable. Maybe they have a fender in good condition. Gasoline or some buffing may work on the bumper or other areas that are white.

 

Ill try them out. I've looking on craigslist for parting out cars and i just cant find a single place that has a wrecked g35 I was looking at mobile repair places but idk if i want to have 1 part of the car repainted, I feel like it wont match.

 

Came in thinking a door ding or something similar. Looks like someone side swiped it. I'd take that to a auto body shop or look for another OB fender and also a front bumper. From all the repaints on black cars I've seen they all seem to match real good.

 

I would take her to a body shop! If you have geico ins they guarantee Their work a lifetime at recommended body shops

 

Seriously? Paintless dent removal means they're smaller than a golf ball, this is way more than that, this fender needs to be replaced at a quality body shop!

If you simply remove the dent, it will look better, but I don't know about "good" . The paint that's chipped away obviously can't come back without a repaint, but a good and even dent removal, then some clay bar and polishing will make it look MUCH better, which may save you having to repaint right away. Hope that helps.

I'm assuming cost is an issue. I'm not going to assume. Personally I'd replace the fender or take it to a shop, whichever is less expensive, but if cost is an issue, PDR first then paint. It's completely logical IMO.

And turns out my idea wasn't so bad after all, even Ivan suggested something similar. I didn't think of the clay bar, that's probably much better than the wet sanding.

 

Pdr is for more than golf ball sized dings. YouTube pdr and you will see entire caved in quarter panels repaired to perfect as long as the paint is intact. As far as the repair for the op, no body shop worth it's salt would replace that fender. It's an easy repair for this, but your bumper needs to be repaired as well. I wouldn't trust a mobile service for work like this.

The word "Assume" shouldn't be in your vocabulary! Where did you get the idea that a clay bar is a fix all? Clay removes tiny particles on the painted surface, from the pic there isn't enought paint left! Paintless Dent Removal won't make this fender perfect! If this was my car the fender would be replaced, screw the cost!

Oh, c'mon, Gary... Clay/compound/wax will buff it right out. It creates paint when you do it right. Haha

 

That **** looks chipped lol. Idk wat pdr prices are in ur area but here a quarter size dent will cost between $75-150. Not cheap.
