I went to the self-serve car wash today to give the Subaru Outback a quick scrub. (It wasn't the G35 but it could have been. ) The bays were almost empty so I pulled into the vac in front of an open wash bay and started cleaning the car's interior. I was just finishing up when I noticed that someone had pulled into the wash bay from the other side.

I was pissed. Am I completely unrealistic in expecting that my position at the vac assured my use of the open bay in front of me? Or should I have expected that the open wash bay was fair game regardless to my obvious intention to use it next?

BTW, the car bays were full by the time I realized I'd been had and I wasn't about to prey on someone's wash bay that was vac'ing their car just as I had been.

You don't know the half of it! The little pixie got her "mini me" out of the kid's seat and let her finish the wash. I just shook my head in resignation.

 

i'm with you. i wouldn't have assumed that the open bay in front of you was free game either. maybe the mini-me's whining about getting to wash the car gave the pixie such a headache that she chose to zoom into "your" wash bay. better luck next time.

 

Bring some orange cones next time and set 'em up!
