I beeen had stock rims for 6 months now.. somehow front rims seem to have stains left from brake. How do I get rid of these stains easily? Any product recommandation.. All this time, i have used mcguires's nxt soap and washing mitt. Any other products that I can use to maintain a shinny look?

Might wanna be careful with full strength Simple Green. I'd try a a wheel cleaner spray first and see if that takes care of it. Make sure you use one that's safe for your wheels. Some will say don't use on polished aluminum, etc.

I'd try mild and work your way up to more strength until you find something that gets it out. Then chrome polish and wax them and that will make future cleans much easier.

Hey Bomb, Dilute the Simple Green 50/50 with water.

Spray your wheels for awhile with the hose, make sure they cool to the touch before washing.

You might give WheelWax a try. I was sure surprised and very happy with this product.

Hey Everyone:

I've been using Simple Green on my stock wheels for over a year now. I fill a bucket with hot water and pour Simple Green 1-2oz and I also spray the wheels directly with it and then use the soapy water and soft hand mit to clean the wheels. It works great and for those of you that are environmentally conscious, it's biodegradable.

Wow, lots of bad advice here. Would you use simple green on your paint? Wheels are painted just like the body, so you shouldn't treat them any differently.

Here's how you SHOULD clean your wheels:

1. Wash and dry with car wash
2. Wipe clean with spray detailer
3. Stubborn stains or residue should be removed with a clay bar

The spray-on-hose-off stuff is not good for clear coats, and usually doesn't do a complete job anyway, so you end up having to go back over it with detailer and a rag anyway.

I worked at a detail shop in HS/College and I've been a fanatic ever since then with my Mustang and now my G.
