Clear coat damage

I park my car in a garage both at home and at work. There are several spots on the hood and bumber where the clear coat has been removed. My detailer says it's because of chemicals in the concrete that leak out and drip onto cars in garages. My question is wether the clear coat can be repaired or do I need to have it repainted? If anyone knows, I would appreciate it. Also, does anyone know how much I should expect to pay to have it repaired?

Thanks,
Charlie

If your clear coat has been removed by chemical damage, the only solution is repainting the panel. anything else is a short term fix. Sorry to hear that happened. Is your building responsible for any damages incurred in the garage?

It happened in a military garage, so I doubt they'll help with the repair. So, there's damage to both front quarter panels, the hood, and the bumper. Should I have the whole car repainted or just the parts that were damaged? Do you have any idea how much I should expect to pay?

Doc, depending on the damage, and the rest of your finish, You would have to make that call....If you were to re-clear your whole car, it probably would be expensive....Get a few estimates from a couple quality paint shops, and then make you decision..

I would be more concerned about matching the "texture" of your finish rather than anything else...(orange peel etc)
