buffing plastic

What would ya'll recommend to buff out a scrach in the plastic taillight? Some sort of polishing compound, or 1500 grit sandpaper, or what?

Meguire's makes aplastic polish that is really good. It is not very abrasive, so you can control the cutting of the plastic. It works really well on the head light covers.
