Looking nice man, making me more eager to get my car!

My car wont have any swirls and stuff... so do you think I should still use the porter thing? Can you post some steps like detailed if you have time?

another thing, according to Zaino, using orbitals make you waste a lot of polish... suposedly, a lot of polish stays on the pad, is this true? How many ounces of polish per coat did you use?

If it comes swirl-free from the dealer and you wash and dry it correctly you should'nt have to use it for some time, so I would just buy it when you need it.

I heard the same thing about using Zaino with porter cable, so I did everything by hand. Also that cotton applicator they give you or recommend you use is crap!!!!!

I used it for the first coat and I wasted so much and had to really push hard to get even coats. Next I used my black magic foam applicators and they worked 100 times better. You don't have to push as hard and you get easy even coats. I think the cotton absorbs much of the polish, compared to foam which keeps most of it at the surface. I know this isn't recommended but it worked better for me.

I used 1 1/2 ounce for all three coats, but wasted a lot on the first cotton applicator coat. I used the same amount on the first coat as I did on the next 2 coats with the foam applicator.

Does it make any sense to clay the car before or after polishing? I will be polishing mine shortly in this order: dawn wash, clay the car, polish with porter, wash car, then apply Zaino. Too many steps you think? The reason I would wash it after the polishing is to remove any residue ( as Zaino will not adhere properly on other products-does this exclude a mild compund polish?). Thanks

Sounds good, Im not sure about the 2nd car wash though... it cant hurt it anyway.

Just make sure that your car is 100% dry before you start applying Zaino.
