The 7336 will work with 6" pads right? I assume the 7336 is a 6" buffer/orb.

Like if I got the 7336 will this kit work?

7336: Called a "sander" by Porter Cable, includes a 6" counterweight and 6" sanding pad, P/N 16000
7336SP: Sander/Polisher, includes plastic carrying case, 6" counterweight, 6" sanding pad, and 6" polishing pad, P/N 54745

7424: Called a "polisher" by Porter Cable, includes 5" counterweight and 6" polishing pad
7424SP: Similar to 7336SP, but uses a 5" counterweight and 5" sanding pad, P/N 13700.

Well, how come people have opted for the 7336 when its called a "sander" over the "polisher" called 7424?

I really want to buy one of these machines, but I am undecided which of these I should get. Can someone help?

From what i've learned on this board and the Meguiar's board they're both the same...the only difference is the counter weight....people opt for the 7336 b/c it can hold a 6" pad to cover more area...I'd like to get it myself...i'm just debating on how often will i really use the machine and having it professionally detailed....since they're about the same price....Hope this helps ya!

I'll also give a big thumbs up in favor of the PC7424 (or 7336 - no major difference as explained in previous posts here). A big time saver, and you aren't nearly as worn out after you are done waxing.

Another pretty neat accessory in the Meguiars Ultimate Wipe Microfiber pad. It's a microfiber pad that you slide over a foam pad. Makes the wax removal a bit easier and quicker.

Regarding the post of "should I do the PC or a professional detail", for the cost of ONE professional detail, you can have the PC. After that, each time you wax will cost ~$10 or so. If you are into keeping your car lookin good and enjoy it, I'd definitely recommend getting one.

One word of warning tho... you may find friends and family wanting to know how your car looks so good all the time.. LOL

Can someone here give me some advice.

If I go buy the 7336 from Loes for $95~ bucks. What other stuff do I need to buy to make this work? I have a BLACK car, and the dealer when I got it new made it look awesome. But after one wash, you can see the swirls where they high-speed it wrong. I would like to get rid of these and I think the PC is the onyl way. I tried a oribital with 3M for dark cars but it only covered it up and came back after 2 washes.

In my own research i went to Meguiar's online and they have some products that will help with removing the swirls i think it's called Glaze #83...Most products out there fill up the swirls...I would check what type of wash mitt you're using as well as towels..Hope this helps!

I recently learned from my detailer that the 3M swirl remover for commercial applications was changed a while back and is not the same one you would have purchased in the past. Basically more than the packaging changed. I used it in the past and it was a miracle worker. Tried it recently and it was awful. I have used the Griots polish which helped because of the stages based on how bad the swirls are. I have heard that the new Zaino remover is supposed to be great but have not tried it. Black sux.

I like the Poorboy's line for Polishes and they are relatively cheap. I detail professionally and use them often with great results. They work well by hand or with the PC or an orbital buffer. I would highly recommend them if you need to fix something on the paint.
