Interior Detailing Product -- BEWARE!

Wow... I just bought a package of Meguiars Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner Wipes. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE PRODUCT! I might as well have used Black Magic Tire Gloss on my Black Leather. This damn stuff is supposed to be a cleaner/moisturizer wipe not a damn Armour-All wipe.

The Meguiars website says: This product is not a dressing. It will leave a natural satin sheen on your leather that is non-greasy and non-shiny. Meguiar’s goal is to bring out the natural color and beauty of leather without resorting to artificial gloss. This is complete BS!

I'm pissed and I'm taking this crap back to AutoZone and calling Meguiars. I've been a loyal Meguiars product user and now I don't know if I'll be that loyal anymore.

I spent about 1 hr removing this junk after using the wipes on just 1 seat (half of the back seat).

Do yourself a favor and don't use this product!!! My G is fine now, but I'm not happy.

Anybody else experience similar with this product or other Leather cleaner wipes?

For leather, I get awesome results using Lexol alternated with 303 Aerospace Protectant (for added UV protection).

Dont bother with the meguiars stuff. Use Lexol cleaner and conditioner...it works wonders. And for your vinyl dash areas, vinylex

The backs of the seats are vinyl which could explain why the wipes didn't work too well. I've used this stuff before on my other cars, but I prefer Lexol.

do you think this applies to the Meguiars Gold Class Rich Leather (in a bottle) or just specific to the wipes?

Not sure about the Rich Leather in a bottle. I'm sure it's the same stuff though. I talked to a friend of mine that had also used the Gold Class Rich Leather wipes and he said the best way to use them is to wipe the leather down with the wipes, let it sit on the leather for 15-20 minutes, then dry with a clean microfiber cloth. I did this, after my frustration with the product, and I do feel alittle better about the product. Then again, I can't tell any difference on my black leather.

So.... I'm not quite 100% convinced yet with this product, but I am feeling alittle better. Meguiars products have always been on my "good" list.

Therefore, if you currently use this product or plan on using it, the following is my recommendation: Wipe down all leather, let sit on leather for 15 minutes, then dry with microfiber cloth.

Good Luck!

I'm a big fan of the Zaino Leather In A Bottle. If only the scent would last a bit longer.

I use the Meguiar's leather in a bottle. It works great to restore the leather like new. After it dries I use Zaino leather in a bottle for the smell. I haven't tried the wipes and don't plan on it now.

From my experience, the bottled product works much better than the Wipes.

I like Lexol a lot too, I used to use that all the time. However after I tried Leatherique I was even more impressed and I use that now. The Prestine Clean removes the contamination and discoloration from the leather and makes it feel like new again. It doesn't leave that greasy oily feel like some products. I'd say either product will get the job done but I do prefer the Leatherique. You can find them both here with some pretty good bundle deals http://secure.detailedimage.com/Merc...y_Code=Leather.

If your looking for a multipurpose cleaner bottle the 303 Aerospace Cleaner http://secure.detailedimage.com/Merc...gory_Code=3000 does an amazing job on just about the entire interior and can even handle cleaning leather. However I don't think it revives the leather like Lexol or Leatherique does.
