Thoughts on Diamond Fusion glass treatment?
Thoughts on Diamond Fusion glass treatment?
Just picked up my black 05 6MT yesterday (yay!), and the dealer was trying to interest me in a glass treatment called Diamond Fusion. Supposedly it is a 3M material that is bonded to the glass to smooth it at a microscopic level. They claim a 10X increase in hardness and RainX-like water resistance. They want $400... which buys a lot of RainX! However, the idea of having something permanent is nice...
Anyone try this or hear about it? I tried searching but didn't see anything at all...
Thanks!

From my own experiences regarding dealer options:
1) You can get anything they sell somewhere else.
2) You will get it for a lot less if you do some research.
Once I got suckered into a paint sealer for $600.
Next week I clayed the car & started over. Lesson learned.

like you said geezerb, you learn it by paying something.
it never hurts you since you learn afterward.
it's a great thing to learn without paying much but dont feel too bad about it.
dealers charge a lot but i never had a single problem with them and they always did nice job.
i would do it if my dealer offered me that option. $400 isnt too bad for something permanent for your glasses.
BTW, is it just windshield or the glasses all around the car?

It's only the windshield... which makes it seem much more expensive... if they'd negotiate and do all the windows for $400 I'd probably say yes...
Still, I'd rather hear from someone who has tried this kind of thing before I drop the money on it...
