Any body W/ grease and tint

Anyone notice the grease streaks on the windows after the car was tinted? It is more noticable now that there is tint on the windows but I'm hoping that it'll ujst go away sooner or later. It's not too bad just more noticeable.

Re: Any body W/ grease and tint

My car is tinted and I've had a grease streak on my window for about 3 weeks now that won't come off. I've tried using eagle 1 glass cleaner but no success at all. I don't know if the grease somehow got between the tint and the glass. I guess its possible but I'm screwed now. Any suggestions? I'm afraid to use something thats too abrasive.

Take it to the dealer. There is a TSB that will take care of it. Had my car done last week when I had the break switch recall done

Anyone else thinking of tint should make sure they get it taken care of before they get it done.

silvsurf, take it back to your tint guy, he shoulda cleaned the window better BEFORE he tinted. I also didn't notice the grease streak until after i got tint. Luckily the tint guy did a real good job cleaning so it was only on the outside of the tint. Took it in for the Drifting right issue and some other things, including the grease streak and it seems to be fixed now. No Grease. Unfortunately, they lubed the window cable, but didn't fix the motor/grinding noise when the window goes up. Oh well, ill have em try again when i need the next oil change.

Yeah dude seems like the tint shop didn't clean the window before they tinted it. That's a big cause of bubbling and defective tint. Make sure you take it back and they do it right. Also once it's done make sure you get the grease streak fixed by the dealership as soon as the tint dries. There is a TSB fix from nissan for it. The reason I say you should do it quickly is because dirt and grime will start to get caught in the grease and may scratch your tint. This happened to my tint since I waited for a while before I got the grease streak fixed. Now I gotta get the tint fixed in that widow cuz there are scratches. Just some words of advice, Peace.

Thanks for the advice guys but the grease streak appeared 2 months after the tint job. I had a professional job done (one of the best tinters in NYC area) and watched them do it myself. Not sure what I'll do but should've gotten it fixed at my last oil change as a preventive measure.

My windows were tinted during the grease problem. The problem became a million more times noticeable because of the tints. I got the TSB done. WHile it did reduce it a great deal, I do get some grease streaks every now and then on hot days.

Well I tinted my windows too, and I took it to the dealer, They said that that they can't do anything since I got my G tinted, but while I was driving with "THE SERVICE CAR" which was also G35, It streaks to on the LEFT & RIGHT not tinted! So I told him that, Now they gonna order some parts for it. AND I will drive a FX35 or 35 as a service car!

GOTTA LOVE IT

Re: Any body W/ grease and tint

I have tinted windows and grease. I can not fully remove the grease from the tint either. It is not in between tint/glass.

I have tried lots of glass cleaners too. I notive it will rub off with my finger somewhat.
If any finds something that will remove the grease w/o harming the tint, let me know too.

Goo Gone. I had a grease streak on my other car and it works wonders. ALWAYS keep a bottle of that stuff handy- it'll clean up pen marks, show scuffs, etc. on the interior panels of your car, too (not to mention help you get unwanted stickers, etc. off).

I'm not sure if I would use Goo Gone on the tint. I have tint and the streak too. I just use a little water and a soft towel and it rubs out fine.

Re: Any body W/ grease and tint

Generally, whenever I get a grease streak it comes right off. But this one won't. Anyone have suggestions for another cleaner that won't harm tint?

BTW, I have an appt to bring my car in to get the TSB done this Friday.
