Finally got around to detailing my black sedan.

So I bought this car 3 months ago. The previous owner didn't know what he was doing when it came to washing - I don't think it's ever seen a coat of wax, let alone a polish. In any event the paint was in pretty poor shape, lots of swirls and random marring, quite a few moderate to major scratches in the clearcoat, a couple terrible touch-ups, ya. When I bought it I meant to get to this earlier but you know how it is. Actually that's part of why I bought this one rather than another they had - the price was 2k less because of the paint damage. Anyway it looks about 6 million times better now. Took me 10-12 hours but it was worth it (we'll see how I feel tomorrow :P)

Process was wash/clay/wetsand drivers side rear fender touch up/polish with PC a lot (poorboys SSR2.5 and 1), then Zaino'ing. I'm going to add some carnuba tomorrow once the Zaino sets. The hardest part was actually the front headlamps. They were in really poor shape, pitted, cloudy - took me 5-6 passes with Megs PlasticX before they were done.

Sorry for the poor quality of pictures. It's garaged underground (live in a loft style building) and the light isn't great.

Mmmm, wet. Can't wait to put some Natty's on it.

A 2003 BMW 330xi looks on in the background. My car and it are eachothers nemesis'

Hi! This angle was like one of those circus mirrors. I look all stumpy. I love it!

Boy do I. I actually owned a coupe before this (had to sell when I moved) and if it's possible I like the this one better. Maybe because with it's trashed paint it was like the ugly-Infiniti-duckling. :P

I still need to do mine. I got the dealer installed swirl package. Its just been way to hot to do it here and I been too busy at that. But I got pretty much all the products from poorboys, to meguires, to optima, and so on. :P

Great Work. A little time, patience and the right products and you can do wonders for even the ugly ducklings.
