**Help Needed**....Debadging Problem

Need some advice here fellas.

I debadged the "G35" logo this week. My Black G is 5 weeks old.

Anyhow, I used the dental floss and goo gone method to get the badge and adhesive off the paint. Well, after I took the badge off, I still could see an outline of the G35. Basically, where the G35 was, the paint is very shiny and in between the letters are minor scratches (from dental floss and goo gone removal I suppose).

I used Meguiars Scratch X and Meguiars NXT Tech Wax and the minor scratches are still there and I can still see the "g35" logo (on certain angles in the sunlight)

Any advice on how to get this all blended in? It pisses me off to look at this every morning

My next step was to go to a professional detailer, but I would like your input first.

Thanks.

No need to go to a professional detailer, you just need a slightly more aggressive polish. Scratch-X only does very minor polishing, some will say it does nothing. I would recommend you get the Poorboy's Super Swirl Remover. This is a medium abrassive polish that will wear down your clear coat slightly and blend the faded clear coat to the non-faded clear coat. Then follow this up with the Poorboy's World Super Swirl Remover 1.0. This will remove any micro marring you may have created with the medium grade polish and restore a high shine to the paint. You can get both products, plus two microfiber applicators and two microfiber towels that are high quality for $25. This is a great deal that I've been trying to let people know about it. It's the summer special for detailedimage.com. This two step process is very simple and safe to do even for someone who has never tried it before. You can do your entire car like this and you'll be amazed at how bright you can make your paint look with just these two products. After using a polish you will have stripped the wax of the surface so make sure you wax any areas that you polish. If you have any questions post it here or PM me.

Thank you for the info..I am going to order it this week.

Are you affiliated with the site? If so, I need to order a few more products and (if you are commission based) then you can credit for those items also.

Nah, ur not really doing anything that harsh. In a year or, everything will need to be machined polished anyway with a good orbital since it's black (unless it's garaged 24/7! LOL

Remember when u polish, after you find the product that cuts the least but does the job you need, you need to work from that to finer and finer grades to get the best shine!

I never used any abbrasive product when I debadged my car. I did see the G35 logo after debadging, however, after I washed and waxed my car 3 times, the letters went away. If you dont want to do the other method, just wash and wax next 2 sundays and they will be gone.

The Wax will give you the appearance that the problem is gone but it only temporarily fills in and seals the area where the badges were. A light to medium polish followed up by a very light polish will fix this problem permanently with very minimal differences between it and the other pannels. On such a new car with relatively light polishes it should be near impossible to tell any differences.

^ yes that is true, however, after I dawned my car, I looked and the G35 was no longer visible. That is what leads me to believe that washing well 3 to 4 tiemes did it.
