Claybar removed bird dropping but now need help...

Found bird poop and bug/tar remover didn't help. This weekend I claybared the car and was able to rub the poop off using the claybar. Problem is I now have scratches where the poop was. I put on 3 coats of Zaino Z5 and Z2 but it's still noticable at the right angle. Any tips?

Word. If you're working by hand ScratchX should do it. Just remember to apply liberally and work it in with a little elbow grease until it disappears. It may take multiple passes to eliminate the etching, so be patient.

Thanks....I was just sooooo happy the claybar removed the "ring" the poop left. I was afraid it was permanent.

Who makes Scratch X?

You started off wrong! Soak the bird kaka with water and wash off. Birds eat
gravel or sand and that ends up on your ride mixed with the poop. When you try
to wipe it off you scratch the paint surface. You may have to buff out the scratches
but a good place to start is with Scratch X or I have used Nu Finish Scratch Doctor.

Gary,
Actually I did spray with water and used soap to gently remove the poop. However a clear ring was left that could not be removed with soap or bug remover. I had to use a little pressure with the claybar, but not too much. The scratches are pretty fine and I think the Scratch X will do the trick. I think I'll keep a bottle of detailer in the trunk so I can remove the poop earlier next time.

Yep, Megs - and you can find it at just about any auto parts store that carries cleaning supplies, which is nice. Just grab it and a terry cloth applicator (normally I recommend mf, but you want something with bite), apply a liberal amount to the applicator and get rubbing. It should come out after 3-4 passes. Good luck.

What sucks is I moved buildings due to my job. I work on a campus and we have 8 buildings and two include parking decks. Therefore between home and work my car was always garaged, but now I'm several building away from either garage. Maybe I should walk the extra distance just so I can keep it from getting bombed.

When using Scratch-X, I have found it takes a few attempts. Scratch-X is made of diminishing abrasives. So, with that said, the beginning of the process will be the most effective. What I mean to say is don't try to work it in for a long time. Do one attempt, wipe it off, and do again.
