Is it bad to wash your car often?
I've had mine for about 2 years, washed it every Sunday and probably missed about 10 weeks. I put about 10 coats of Zainos the first two months. Now, I only put a couple coats on every 2-3 months. Still looks great.

Hey, no problem. I've found so many good tips from this forum and other places, thought I share some of the sights I found. Here's another tip I found.
You can wash your car once a week. You most likely only need to add a spray-wax (I heard Eagle One Wash Wax thingie was good or Mother's FX Spray wax is good to, which I used) after you wash it (providing you do the whole regiment of 1. pre-wax 2. clay and 3. polish 4. wax, although if your car is still new, skip 2. and 3.). I finally follow this tip and sure enough, my car shines almost all week until wash time on Sat/Sun. Also, things tend to not stick to your car when it is properly wax too (i.e. Bird Poo, Sap, etc.).
So, go wash your car once a week if it is dirty and use the spray-wax afterwards for the whole month. The spray wax should only take you about 20 minutes tops. Throughout the week, use Detailing Spray (like Maguires or Mothers) when you do see something that may cause damage. That's it.
Your friend sounds like my 60+ year old nosy neighbor lady: "Do you have any paint left on that car?" Uuuugh. Makes me want to strangle her for being so stupid. Then I just think about how bad the paint on her Lexus looks (because she never does anything to it) and I feel instantly better.
If I DON'T wash it once a week, it bothers the crap out of me.
