Eye Make-up on the Headliner

OK...my wife was putting on her makeup in the car mirror and brushed her stupid little blush-brush against the nice new pristine headliner. There is a small brown streak less than 1/4" ...but it sure seems bigger!! I told her NOT to try and wipe it off until I got some suggestions....anybody have any...just a little straight soap and water??? I just don't want it to smear into a bigger spot.

I would use some light adhesive tape to remove what's not ground in too deep. Duct tape may cause fraying so don't use that, I would suggest trying scotch tape first (below), very lightly so you don't press the stain in.

Good luck.

I'm afraid you're doomed...best to buy your own "blush" and cover the whole headliner. Apply sucessive coats until the color is even!

Failing that try one of the citrous based (water soluble) cleaners. I use Citra Clean www.citraclean.com. It has removed any mark or stain I managed to put on the G's fabric including cigarette "scrapes".

Ouch-- sorry to hear about the spot, man. You had a new G and everything! I'd recommend trying to dab it out with club soda, various cleaners, and failing that, getting a new wife that doesn't use makeup

use a damp cotton cloth to pat it down.
My idiot brother was smoking in my car and he TWICE burned the A pillar and left burnt ash marks, i used a damp cloth to wipe it off, ash was completely removed!

If someone has been smoking in the past hour, they can't sit in my G. I'm pretty allergic to it, and the smell of it trapped in a car is possibly the most hideous thing I can imagine... my eyes water, I get nausea... I can't handle it. If anyone ever even though of lighting up in my G? Well, they'd have nicotine suppositories.

Re: Eye Make-up on the Headliner

Thanks to all......I ordered some Lexol stuff off of properautocare.com so I am waiting for it to arrive and we'll see how it does.

Hmmm...new wife who doesn't wear makeup?? I don't know, my first wife didn't wear makeup and that only lasted 6 years...current wife has hung in there for 19 sooooo I think I'll keep her around.

(Anyway...she makes more money than I do, that's why we could afford this car in the first place!!)

Let's hear it for women in sales!!! Go baby go...bring home da bacon...poppa needs a brand new headliner!!!

Re: Eye Make-up on the Headliner

Happy ending...Lexol spot remover worked great, not only on the makeup, but also a small red pen ink mark!!! Both gone and no damage to headliner.
