San Diego Clear Bra Group Discount

I've been calling around and so far, Modern Image in San Diego is willing to go down to about $500 as a group discount. Does this sound good? Has anyone ever dealt with this company before? Any input would be appreciated.

Re: San Diego Clear Bra Group Discount

Hi:

San Diego G35 owner here. I had clear bra put on my G35 at "dealer cost" via Infiniti on Convoy St. It was a full kit which includes lower bumper, upper front fenders, about 1/4 of front hood, area behind front wheel wells and partial covering of side rearview mirrors. Install seemed satisfactory to me. On lower right hand corner of front bumper, at very bottom, there are about 5 nip points that stick out where the clear bra was not fitted correctly. There are 2 superficial blue "dirt spots" about the size of a sharp pencil point. One is in the same area as the 5 nip points and the other is in the area of the front grill. This work was done for $400 through the Sales Manager at their cost. Work was performed by "Road Block" which can only be contacted via dealership.

Before the clear bra install, I had contacted MIS and they had quoted me $700 for the same job which included the headlight lenses. So, I went with the $400 job and they did not do the headlight lenses.

I like the clear bra idea very much and am satisfied with the results, although "Road Block" install could have been better. Still, I saved $300.

Yesterday, before reading your post, I had MIS install the headlight lense clear bra covers. They did a good job. It cost $70 for the product and $20 for the install + $6+ for tax. So, in total I have spent $497 total on the clear bra.

This would make the MIS clear bra install for $500 a good buy, provided that is the out the door price. If it does not include the tax, then you might be able to beat their price via the method I used. It would only save you about $45.

MIS may be a better installer than the Road Block guy. MIS has it's own garage and puts it's reputation directly on the line. Road Block only works via a dealership and can only be contacted through a dealership. Road Block uses the dealer as a buffer between the customer and themselves.

Tried to post a pic but it did not work. Sorry ;(

Thanks for the info and all your efforts, sybertel. I am curious about what kind of warranty did your clear bra come with.
