Re: Crystal Guard vs. Zaino

When I got my G, I got CG and Zaino (Two most talked about products on here). I CG'ed the G and Zaino'd a different car that was only about two weeks old.
From what I can tell, the Zaino's shine faded faster, however the protection is definitely evident after two months. I re-Zaino it every couple of weeks to keep the shine up (not the WHOLE Zaino process), but even when I do, the water is still sheeting off while I'm washing it- great product.
So far, I haven't had to CG the G again, but after two months it's starting to not shine as much and water isn't sheeting like it used to.
Essentially, the CG lasted longer and kept the shine, but the Zaino was better to keep a deep glossy shine, as I applied it much more frequently.
Six of one, half-dozen of the other...
I'm going to re-apply this weekend, so I'll do a half-and-half on the Envoy or the FX (I won't sacrafice the G to experiments yet). I'll take pictures and post some follow-ups as time goes on. Anyone else out there willing to do the same?

Re: Crystal Guard vs. Zaino

Swirlmarks will be the death of me...
The two original cars were an Envoy and my G the Zaino and CG (respectively). The Envoy's seen a lot of rain, but the G gets driven a lot more --6k in two months, so far.
I've got a B.O. FX, which is a Black Infiniti paint job, so maybe I'll try it on that, as it cuts down on a couple variables. I'll let ya know...

Re: Crystal Guard vs. Zaino

A couple of people over at my350z.com have done this. They say CG looks less dirty after a week of driving, but Zaino is outshining it.

If you want to most advanced, progressive answers to your auto detailing questions, go here:

Unfortunately, you'll find little/no information on CG on that website. Seems most people there either have not heard of it or have no interest in it......

Re: Crystal Guard vs. Zaino

The Envoy is black as well. I think I enjoy cleaning cars too much; I'm at 5 black now and one more on the way. DOH! I miss my white car. Now THAT was a breeze...
Hitman- Are you talking about the forums or reviews sections? If it's the forums section, I'm guessing the fact that it's sponsored by an online store that seems to be only reviewing its own products might be a factor...
If it's reviews, CG is foreign-owned with only two US distributors, so I'm guessing neither of them have complained about it yet (Most of the others have hundreds of distributors, who complain if it's not advertized/compared alongside everything else). Most of them are put up there for review by vendors, not visitors. Shoot em an email them and tell them to do it, it'd be a good place to collect reviews...

Re: Crystal Guard vs. Zaino

Somebody do half your car with Zaino and the other half with CG - like the commercials they show about dandruff shampoos . I am sticking with Zaino!!

Re: Crystal Guard vs. Zaino

I love Zaino. It shines and it's very easy to wash the car after a few coats of Zaino - all the bugs just come right off. I't's been about a month since I've applied it, and the car is still shining . To each it's own, but I'll still with Zaino.

I fallow the recomended maintenance by using my garden hose to rinse the car once a week and dry it with chamois

This sounds like a scratch-o-roma to me. Just rinse? Ha Ha!!!

Why is this your first post on this forum. Are you going around marketing your product by posting? If you have a M-Benz, what the H are you doing here? I'm not saying the product is bad. Get some real fact and come back and post them! Durrability testing by an outside source would be good.
