So you want chance that one of the fine people who peruse this forum to follow that bad advise. You think we should sit back idly while some guy gives bad advise. I wasn’t bashing the product as I have never used it. Just would not want to see someone only rinse and dry their car. It WILL scratch the paint!!!!!!!!

My only other concern is that this forum is being used to promote a product thru the use of posts. It’s like those damb telemarketers. I keep reading posts about CG that seem to be professionally written and feel that I’m being forced feed commercials. The only thing that should be force feed is my VQ3.5.

Re: Crystal Guard vs. Zaino

hey man, i know what you mean, but the thing is, i've washed my car the same way before. With just water and wet sponge. Keep in mind that you have to keep cleaning the sponge every minute of wiping, to keep all of the grit off of it.
But all of the dirt on the car, wipes right off! no scrubbing needed. Just a simple wipe with the wet sponge (water acts as the lubricant here, so no scratches)

Basically carry the sponge in 1 hand, and the hose in the other, just keep a flow of water going. You'll clean the car in a matter of 5 minutes.

Re: Crystal Guard vs. Zaino

Not for nothing, but you really shouldn't be using a sponge on your paint at all....

Go get yourself either a chenille wash mitt (can find them at Walmart for about $3.00) or a genuine lamb's wool wash mitt.

Also, washing your car with just water is always a bad idea. Without the lubrication of a car wash soap, you're more likely to put fine "swirl" scratches in the paint.

No offense, but you sound like a detailing noobie.

Go read the autopia forum if you want to learn how to properly care for your car's finish and keep it looking new.

Hitman... Not a detailing n00bie and certainly dont need a Forum to teach me how to detail a car (because this forum already taught me a year ago... HAHA) seriously though, its just my coupe is NOT a show-car, it is just a toy car for me that stays garaged until weekends... plus it is silver...could care less about micro fine scratches. They dont show. 6 years from now, they might show, but then ill just use my handy dandy PC orbital to buff them out

Re: Crystal Guard vs. Zaino

Just to try to bring this conversation back to the original post, isn't this forum sponsored by CG? Maybe that's why there are some biased opinions about CG. I've gotten Zaino, and Love it. Besides CG being easier/quicker to apply, I don't see any other advantage to it. And usually, easier things in life are not as affective. So, I don't mind spending 4-7 hours on my car, and doing it properly. I'll use any excuse to spend more time on the car . I've put on 3 coats of ZFX+Z2 (I know the Zaino application sounds confusing, but it's really easy) last month, and going to apply another coat of Z2 tomorrow just to add the extra level of protection. Then spray a coat of Z6, and I am ready to blind people. Zaino all the way.

hey zorro, the fact that they are a sponsor doesnt mean the opinion is biased, i dont work for g35driver.com, im just a moderator. The owners of this site are VERY selective of sponsors, they could care less for advertisement besides for paying their bills..... thats why you only see the same 3 advertisements on this site. They keep the sponsorship very limited and exclusive as to what they think are good products.

I knew I would tick someone off with that comment, but it's all good. I just told you my reasoning behind why I like Zaino.

My apologies if I've offended anyone who is using CG.

Re: Crystal Guard vs. Zaino

I'm going to comment on Zainos. I can't comment on Crystal Guard cause i've never used it.

Their are 2 reason why I use Zainos.
1. Longevity. Out of all the polishes I used, it last longest of them all.
2. X5 does a great job hiding LIGHT swirlmarks. I don't think other products really do this.

The one G35 meet i've been to, I looked at a car done by Zainos and one done by Crystal Guard. I couldn't see the difference visually.

If you want shine, the best product I've used was Klasse, but did not last to long.
