Yeah, Another Scratch Advice Question...
Yeah, Another Scratch Advice Question...
Yes, another "what to do about my scratch" question.
I am not sure if it was intentional or not, but a scratch appeared on my G at the end of work today. Could be that someone brushed against the car with something, or keyed it (although it should be worse if it was keyed).
Anyway, the scratch is about six inches, and I believe is down to the primer. You can definitely feel the groove, and I do not think waxing it will take it out.
What can a detail shop do to remove this? I have no experience with touch up paint, so I don't even want to try that. I doubt it can be buffed out, but can they do any other treatments to it to remove the scratch? I also have another similar scratch that a rake made (my fault).
I already had a bad claying experience, and really take pride in keeping my G clean, so this really sucks. Makes you whine, "why me!" Please help.
Thanks.

Re: Yeah, Another Scratch Advice Question...
I'm sure a good detail shop can get it out for you. I had a four inch scratch on my hood that was probably not as deep as yours but was definitely into the clearcoat. I think they wet-sanded it, polished and waxed it. Looks brand new. Think cost was $50 or $75.
