Clear bra like tape..

Hey folks, I've had my G for about a week. This morning I noticed a clear plastic that seems to be taped to the lower part of the black front lip of the car. I have a Brillian Silver Sedan with the premium package and aero. Should I take it off or does it actually serve some kind of protective purpose?

protects against rock chips... its commonly called clear-bra, and you can get your entire front bumper covered by it as well, works like a charm, costs around $600 for a good install.

See the bubble in the tape above.

Nah, not a clear bea. It's a protective strip of clear adhesive tape covering the black plastic lip under the front bumper, like the white plastic covering the painted panels. It's for protection during shipping only. I left mine on for a few weeks since it was pretty unnoticable, but once I dragged the lip over a few parking blocks or curbs, it frayed and looked more noticable so I removed it.

Thanks chinee...thats what I was looking for. I know what a clear bra is and I was pretty sure that wasn't one. The reason I asked was because after I washed the car a corner started to bubble a little and I didnt know if I should take it off.

I have the same issue with mine. It's starting to be noticable. What's the best method for removing this? Should it just peel off without damaging the paint or should I take it to the dealership?

Thanks,

wil is right just pull it off or get some adhesive remover. It should not cost more than $10. Just make sure you wipe it off right away.
