Paint touch-up in cool weather

I bought some touch-up paint and would like to get going on some spots this weekend but it's going to be in the 40's. I have a garage. Do I need a heat lamp? Any advice appreciated. I bought the paint and clearcoat (both brush and pen) from paint scratch.com.

TIA

Well, FWIW it got up to the upper 40s today so I took my first test stab at a spot on my bumper (damn rocks ). I didn't like the applicator brush from the bottles of base coat and clear coat after a trial. So I went to Michaels and found some proper brushes. I wanted a brush with a hard pointed tip (keep your mind out of the gutter, Lol). Anyway I found that fabric brushes met my requirements so I bought a few. I just made a first coat on another spot and I must say that the paint goes right to where you put it. I'll see how it goes and update. The color match was pretty good from paintscratch.com. My X is Brilliant SIlver.

Why not just go to the dealer and get a perfect match with OEM touch-up?

i usually just use a toothpick. i've applied touch-up sometimes in the dead of winter... and have never had a problem with application and drying.

Touch-up should apply ok in cold weather. I wouldn't do any polishing after the touchup for quite some time though, as it may take longer for the touchup to dry correctly.

Make sure you clean the spot to be touched up (remove any oils, tar, wax, silicons, etc. from the spot) using Dawn, degreaser, etc... and like the others say, the curing time will take longer. Good luck.

Thanks guys,

I did Dawn the front bumper b4 I started. I also had a spot on the rear bumper that I decided to just hit with some Tarminator b4 painting. Not bad so far. Seems like that as time goes on I can barely notice where I've worked. It's a learning experience.
