Paint problem...

WIthin a week of buying my car I noticed that the top driver's side corner of the hood nearest the windshield has a mat look sometimes depending on how the light hits it. It looks like overspray when soneone is spray paiting. I tried wax but that didn't help. Any ideas??? I don't want to mess up the clear coat.

Re: Paint problem...

here is a test for overspray. wash the car to get all the surface dust and dirt off. dry it. then get a zip lock bag or any other plastic bag and stick your hand in it. rub it over the surface, and if it feels gritty and rough you have over spray. to get rid of it safely you need to buiy a clay kit. they sell a mothers kit @ pepboys or you can go to properautocare.com, they have plenty of different clay kits. if you do clay your car, make sure you have a whole day to do it. because after you clay it you need to wax and polish it. actually i am a little pissed because i got over spray on my coupe for the second time thanks to inconciderate cowokers!

Yes, it feels gritty. I may try the Pep Boy route, since I don't generally have an entire day to spend on the car.
