Did the search, didn’t find much, but I can’t believe I’m alone on this.

Scratches around the door handle, what do you do to prevent this? I’ve got thin scratches around the handle on both sides (driver and pass.). My nails are short, but I guess even the slightest rub skims the paint. I was thinking of polishing them out then getting the clear vinyl stuff installed. Any opinions.

I have seen 3m in the handle cup area on other cars.
I decided not to try it myself...

 

That should work well for a while but how do you stop your nails from growing?
Seriously I've seen a number of cars with the clear apllied there. It sounds like a great idea for protection. Those nail marks look awful and it's awkward to remove them.

 

This is a very common problem.I don't know about a clear. I believe 3m makes a clear acrylic film that has to be applied by a dealer for the front of the car. I would just polish the scratches out and put 2 or 3 coats of wax on it.

I use a mild car quality polish & gently buff with a claen cloth. This takes care of those annoying little marks til next washing!

 

i think it's merely impossible to hide them unless you are professional.
people make mistake and leave marks such as scratches...if you dont want one, dont take passengers.
i have my car since april but not a single scratch. i had couple friends/girls as passengers but not a single
most of solutions are just temporary...touch up might be the only way.
