Cleaning leather and interior

Re: Cleaning leather and interior
i dont have to try it to know that soap is soap, the amount moisturizers in that soap is nowhere near the amount that you need, if you think about it logically/chemically, it doesnt make any sense to have a soap+conditioner in 1. Yeah ivory is a soap that is not that abbrasive, its still a soap, and a soap's main job is to lubricate the surface so that all oils and grime wipe away easily. Now if you put moisturizer on your hands, then go wash your hands with soap, about 90% of the moisturizer will wash away, thus proving my point, you cannot have a soap+conditioner in 1.
A good example is Pert PLus, or whatever that shampoo is called, its the worst shampoo there is, why? because its soap+conditioner in 1.

Re: Cleaning leather and interior
I'd have to agree.. Leather is skin. Have you bathed with Ivory soap? I have.. and it leaves me feeling pretty dryed out and near chapped all over my body. It'll do the same thing to your car seat. That's not necessarily bad.. as long as you put conditioner on right after. Ivory by itself, I would guess, would help your leather to crack sooner than it would if left alone.

My bad Ya'll .... Sorry
Just found out yesterday that he does spray a conditioner on afterward (mothers something or other in a red bottle).
Sorry, this course should work well though cleaning and moisturizing!

Re: Cleaning leather and interior
I have both Mother's and Lexol. No problem with either, the Mother's smells a little nicer, but I like how the Lexol goes on and absorbs. I use the Lexol on my G and the Mother's on my In-Law's I-30. I think the Lexol seems to keep the leather a bit more supple, but it could just be the difference in the leathers.

Re: Cleaning leather and interior
Banatoman, which Meguires product did you use, the liquid or the foam? I just tried Meguires Gold Class Rich Leather Foam on a test spot and I can see no shine (then again I haven't backed it out into the sunlight to really examine it that well). I wonder if the foam is any better than the liquid?

Re: Cleaning leather and interior
The only "conditioners" I have put on it are "homemade" and manufactured from me and my woman!
ahahaha
anyways.....
Since I haven't conditioned my leather with any of the products that have been listed here, my drivers seat is getting a bit shiney looking from wear I guess... will these products reduce or eliminate that ?
later dudes

dc......YES, they will go back to looking like normal (at least my experience with lexol on willow leather)
I was thinking about cleaning our Lexus truck with beige interior, dude the leather in there has not been cleaned in 3 years, its like a mirror now haha
i'll let you know if lexol does the trick

Re: Cleaning leather and interior
what about the door panels and armrest type area right by the window sill type thing ... is that something I should put the conditioner on too as it sorta looks like really tightly stretched leather?
and the plastic type surface below it and on the dash.
Mind you I dont want to have a greasy dash at ALL I want it to be clean and not greasy or shiny and smell like "fresh goodness"
ahhh the sweet aroma of fresh goodness.
