Paint sealant?

I was considering a clear bra and I stumbled upon a shop that also does "Paint Sealants" on the car.
It claims to:

"When professionally applied our paint sealant protects against oxidation and fading caused by powerful UV rays that can destroy the value of your vehicle. It also resists acid rain, salt, air, snow, sleet, road film, and detergents that cause finishes to fade."

I just wanted to know if anyone has tried this before and if it really works/protects the car, especially the front where all the impact from road crud occurs.

While I don't know which specific sealant you are talking about, most are pretty much a waste of money. The only real sealant that I know of that does any good is a PPG product that can be applied (sprayed onto a prepped car just like if it were getting painted) to ceramiclear equipped paint jobs.

As for a good sealant, you are better off, in my opinion, with a synthetic sealant like Poorboys EX-P, Werkstatt, or Zaino.

Waste of money...

Nearly all of these "professionally applied paint sealants" are horribly overpriced and are of no better (and probably lesser) quality than products you can buy locally or through websites/distributors. Charging hundreds of $$ for a coat of wax is huge profit for them, and a complete waste of money for you. There is no magic wax/sealant they are using that will outlast/outprotect anything you can buy yourself.

If you want protection that lasts, buy a high quality sealant and apply yourself. I've tried nearly every major brand of sealant out there and IMO, Zaino is the most durable. Road debris/dirt/etc has a much harder time sticking to a Zaino finish. And, it will almost certainly outlast whatever your detailer would apply and cost far, far less. If Z isn't to your liking, there are plenty of other choices out there that would cost far less and be just as good or better than those "professional" applications.

There are MANY sealants out there and they all have their advantages and disadvantages.

Zaino is a fan favorite, great reflectivity, a bit plasticky some might say, terrific durability. The useability is a bit much, you have to mix a couple drops of bottles together.

The Klasse twins are terrific as well, SG provides good durability and looks.

Four Star UPP is by the the SLICKEST sealant I've used so far, the durability is so-so, depending on your weather conditions.

Those are three popular sealants, you should really check out some dedicated detailing forums if you want to learn more.
