Swirl Marks!!!!

Swirl Marks!!!!
I have had the car for 3 days now and I decided today, after work, that it was time for a wash. I ordered my Zaino kit, but it wont be here until tuesday and I didn't like the dirty look of my new car.
So I used one of those soft wool hand mittens and washed the car with detailing soap as gently as I could. Then I dried the car gently with a number of Terry clothes. After it was almost all dry I look closely at the paint and I see damn SWIRL MARKS!! (WTF?)
Where did I go wrong? I was thinking I would use the zaino polish the take the marks out and I am hoping that would work, but I dont know. What can I do to get the damn swirl marks out?
Or is there no possible was to avoid the swirl marks with dark colored cars? HELP?
Thanks guys.

Re: Swirl Marks!!!!
Do not use those wool wash mits. I scratched up my car a little with those things. Now I'm using the 100% cotton towels made by fieldcrest and using a small cut piece to wash my car. Works alot better and doesn't scratch or make swirl marks. To take off the existing marks on your car, use Z-5 until the marks are gone and follow up with the polish.

Re: Swirl Marks!!!!
Hooray for microfiber towels!! They rock my face off...
You can get them at any reputably car parts store (Napa, Pep Boys, etc.). Keep them clean, keep them inside, and wash them after every use.

Re: Swirl Marks!!!!
Just wax your car to get rid of those swirl marks and hairline scratches. Use a Terrry cotton towel or cotton wash mitt (not wool) when you wash your car. Use microfiber towels or a California Water Blade to dry your car. I used to use microfiber towels to dry my car, but now I use the California Water Blade....at first I was afraid it would create new scratches on the paint, but it works amazingly well, and after I'm done "water blading" the car, I just use my microfiber towels to finish off drying the car.

Cali Water Blade is cool, too. I don't know why all these products are the "California water blade" or "california duster". Is California one big wet, dusty state? I thought they only had veggie-pita sandwiches, wuss-proof sushi, and wines come out of there...

Re: Swirl Marks!!!!
DO NOT use wool mitts.
Microfiber is the way to go.
California water blade on dark cars is a big mistake. I did a number on my old car. But when used correctly it saves some time. Any dirt left over after rinsing your car will result in scratches.

Re: Swirl Marks!!!!
Damn wreck, you have one of the cleanest looking cars I have ever seen and its silver too. Not many people can make a silver car shine like you do.
Anyways, I just threw my wool wash mitt away and ordered some microfiber towels and microfiber towels online. Cost me $80. Better be worth it.
BTW wreck, can you come over and show me how to wash my car?

Re: Swirl Marks!!!!
I said this before and I'll say it again (briefly)
I have a black on black
either way
If, after a wash, you take your hose, remove the nozzle so a large fountain of water comes out.
Place the hose end about a couple inches from the hood for example at the windshield in the middle.... let the water "pool" up and make like a big sheet all over the hood ... the trick is to make a pool or sheet type area and that pool sheet will take all of the droplets left on there after off with it... or at least a heck of alot more that you dont have to dry off, especially good for doors and bumpers etc, cause as you know, the more touching or rubbing can create swirls... so minimize that and you minimize swirls.
take care
