Surface scratches on my black g35
Surface scratches on my black g35
There are surface scratches on my black g35 which I noticed when I bought it from the seller.
I tried using a scratch remover product called Nu Finish Scratch Doctor which removed some of the scratches but not all of them.
I was disappointed that it did not remove most of the scratches because they are very light scratches which can only be visible in the sunlight. Some of the scratches are deep which I already know that they can not be removed.
Does anybody know of another product that may do a better job which I can buy at a local auto store?
I notice some auto shops in the yellow phone book advertise that they are able to remove scratches.
Has anybody here on the forum taken their car to an auto shop and had a professional remove scratches? If so, did they remove most of the scratches?
Do they use the same products at local auto stores like Pep Boys or Auto Zone? If not, do they have better products which are not sold at auto stores to remove scratches?

Your best bet is to wash the car with a mix of warm water and dawn dish soap. This will strip all the wax off your car, leaving the surface bare so that you can apply a polish to hide any light surface scratches in the clearcoat.
At this point, you can clay-bar the entire surface of the car to remove any residual debris that may be caught in the paint.
After that, hit the surface with a good polish. Polish is intended to hide slide surface imperfections in your paint such as swirls and minor scratches that don't permeate down through the paint itself.
After the polish has been applied, hit the car with a layer or 2 of wax to protect your polished surface.
1) Wash
2) Claybar
3) Rewash
4) Polish
5) Wax
