i need some help
For info I would use:
www.autopia.org
www.detailcity.org
For products I would use:
www.properautocare.com
www.exceldetail.com
www.poorboysworld.com
For microfiber, don't go cheap or your black car will remind you of that mistake daily. I use the mega plush towels from Poorboy's as well as the towels available in bulk at Excel. Be sure to keep your towels straight and have a set just for wheels and similar work and then a set just for paint items.
While a search here or on autopia will give you lots of hints, here are some highlights as I know searching autopia can be taxing. These are all, of course, my opinions based on my personal experiences.
1) Black car - looks so good but is so hard to keep looking perfect. Any time you read something and think "they are just being ****" realize that these types of tips go doubly for those with black cars.
2) Wash - 2 buckets, grit guard, lambswool mit
3) Dry - Waffle weave, high quality. I like Pak Shak's.
4) Polish - Infinitis have SOFT clearcoats. Don't use anything too abrasive. I find that menzerna FP is about all I need for most things on mine.
5) Wax/Sealant - Zaino is good on dark cars. Poorboy's EX-P is good on light cars. I do not yet have much experience with P21S. Poorboy's Natty Blue is a good, and cheaper Pinnacle Souveran carnuba alternative.
6) Glass - Stoner's Invisible Glass. End of story.
7) Interior - Meguiars Quick Interior Detailer is good. 303 is a good protectant as is Poorboy's Natural Look.
8) Wheels - I would recommend a sealant to make the wheels easier to clean and to reduce the liklihood of brake dust settling in. WheelWax and Poorboy's Wheel Sealant are two good options. I usually hit the wheels with a chemical polish like Klasse AIO or Werkstatt Prime prior to applying 3+ sealant layers.
And as it goes for all you guys, if I mention a product you don't know and you would like to try it out, I am more than happy to mail you a sample. Someone did this for me when I was trying to learn all of this and it kept me from buying a lot of stuff that would not have worked for me.
