Car Lifts

Anyone have a lift? I've looked at the Dannmar parking lift that allows you to do pretty much anything. Anyone have experience with these types of lifts? Are they worth it? Apparently I can get this Dannmar lift for 1895 delivered.

What about scissor lifts? Mid rise. Are they too restrictive?

Thanks all!!

I have tried several lifts and have been most happy with the Backyard Buddy. In my mind, a 4-post is the only way to go. The Backyard Buddy is not cheap but their quality is second to none.

No problems at all. Like you said, the name ruins it for them.

We do a lot of auto shows and I see different vendors at each selling their lifts. Usually, someone locally welds them together and then throws in some hydraulics. These are not usually built to the same rigorous specs as the backyard buddy. You do pay a bit more for the buddy but it is well worth it.

The only drawbacks are the increased cost and some shipping costs unless you have a local distributor. Also, please note that when they deliver these things to a residence, they usually drop them AT THE STREET and you have to round up 10 burly friends to lug the primary beams back. Also, if you only have 10' garage ceilings you will be limited in what cars you can store or work on. Unless you have carriage doors, you also will have to have the garage door tracks reworked (3 doors cost me about $800 I think).

GT thanks great info! I was wondering about the garage doors, was figuring I would have to take the garage door opener off but didn't think about the carraige doors. Good point.

Thanks for the reply
