Tips on putting on Skyline Badges

I was wondering to whom ever has put them on if they can give me any tips on putting on the skyline, nissan, and 350gt emblems on the back of the coupe.

Tips such as how to get it strait as possible, etc....
Thanks

Re: Tips on putting on Skyline Badges

well, for the skyline and 350gt emblems, they come with a template.. that helps u keep the letters straight.. for the 350gt, u should just put it up against the trunk molding that is similar shaped to the template.. for the skyline, i would suggest just looking at where others have put it and basicalli eyeball it.. there's realli no set place to put it.. but i wud suggest asking a friend to be there with you and at a good distance to see if you're puttin it on straight.. hope that helps at all..

Re: Tips on putting on Skyline Badges

I removed the old ones with dental floss (no hairdyer need). The left over glue can be pulled off with your finger nail. I used a little bit of alcohol to get the rest.Wash the car first. The 350GT emblems are easy. For the Skyline, Before removing the "Infiniti" put a piece of masking tape under the it so you know where to put and line up the "Skyline". Think of the Infiniti sign as Pac Man. You must line him up to eat the "L" in Skyline. So line the "L" up with Pac Man first. Then lay the rest of the letters. Worked for me...See!

Re: Tips on putting on Skyline Badges

Get a small carpenters level and some painters tape. Use the level to put a strip of painters tape straight across your trunk. Then just butt the new letters against tape and they should be level and straight.

You know how the foam of the "350gt emblem is not a square? The right side is cut at an arc. It is cut to the exact outline of the right side of your rear hatch. Just test lay the emblem (without removing the backing) first, you'll understand.

Re: Tips on putting on Skyline Badges

I was checking out the INFINITI emblem, and it has a slight curve to it. Should I make my SKYLINE curve slightly or would it look good if I just made it straight?

Re: Tips on putting on Skyline Badges

Curve!!! What! Your car is defective man! Send it back. Just kidding. Leave the "Skyline" in it's template it should go on straight. Oh I forgot... You need to get a ruler and a ball point pen. Since you can not see the masking tape through the blue foam. You need to draw a straight line directly under the "S" and the "E". Draw a straight line to the left of the "S" and to the right of the "E". Both lines should go to the outside edge of the foam. Just line up your line with the top of the masking tape. Basically, what you will get is the outside letters of “SKYLINE” (the S and E) will match with the outside letters of “INFINITI” Did that make sense? Anyways, just dry test it first. I know it’s scary.
