cleaning your engine bay?

I'll say one thing for the G, the engine bay stays cleaner than any other car I have owned. I have had it over a year now and it still looks pretty clean. Even the door sills stay fairly clean after a rain.

That's true. I rarely get requests to clean/dress G engines.

Never use a hose!!! Back in the day, when I owned a G20, I used a degreaser and then hosed the engine compartment out. That ended up costing me more than $1000. I recall replacing my oxygen sensors and many other things. So now I use A spray bottle (like windex) and a rag.

I just wash it with soap and water like I do the rest of the car. Did that on my old cavalier and she still looked brand new under there at 140K miles. Some older cars with exposed spark plugs and/or alternator may give you trouble, but most of the G is covered up with plastic anyway so it'll be fine.
