I know that the costs can vary wildly for tinting our cars due to differences in installation and product. Generally how much did you pay for tinting your windows? I called Mr.Tint-a Local Bay area company and they quoted me $325 for all of 7 windows. Is this competitve?

Mine was about a third of that cost... I went to my dealership and had them recommend some guys they use. The one I used was a contract tinter; had all the tools in his shop, and just brought them to his house and did it there. Excellent job, not a single bubble, no visible lines, and a lifetime warranty. Not too bad...

Keep looking-- try individuals recommended by dealers, not just big shops. Sometimes you get much better service, too.

My tint was $165 for the coupe. Shop around and look for a place that only does tinting. YOU can do better!

I paid about 185 for the coupe in westchester ny. Thats everything except the front.

 

In my area (NC), tinting all windows except the front windshield using an un-dyed film that carries a lifetime warranty costs around $250.

This was thru dealer and they gurantee the tint so if I have problems they give me a loaner and if the door screws up the tint they take car of.

I was thinking to myself that $325 was ay too high. It has been so long since I tinted the windows on my SHO that I have forgotten the cost. Can anyone recomend a good tinter in the San Jose Ca area?

Also, look around for a shop that uses the computer cutter to make the cuts from factory designs

makes everything fit great! Definately the best tint job I have ever gotten.

They have a dealer selector and make sure they do the computer cuts.

Just my opinion but real nice.

I just got mine tinted this past weekend at auto mall tint factory (litespeeds) in Fremont. $360 for everything but the front windshield, but I got the more expensive huper optik ceramic-based tint. Not sure how much it would be for the other tints. They did a really nice job, and the guy there (sidney) is a perfectionist.

LOL i gave a tint installer a couple of bottles of Grey Goose and he tinted my car for free. It came out great

 

Unfortunately, it IS that expensive here in Cali. The businesses have to pay higher gas prices, higher energy bills, higher rents, and higher taxes so that we can recall our governer!
