07 350Z Springs on an 04 Sedan
07 350Z Springs on an 04 Sedan
I've read through the suspension section and Tank's new FYI before asking and see answers for older model springs, but essentially, am I going to run into premature wear issues with shocks and /or tires on my '04 sedan if I put 07 350Z springs on it. I'd like about .5-1.0 inch of drop all the way around to set-it a little more agressively and slightly better handling and would go no bigger than 19's if/when I upgrade rims?
Off hand I'm not sure, but I don't think I have the sport suspension...Will this have an effect?
Am I on the right track?
Thanks Gents

I am planning on doing the same thing i think (unrevised 350z springs on my 04 Sedan).
I just read the part today about having the sport suspension. I am going to check this weekend if i have the red struts.
From what i understand...lowering only by .5-1 inch shouldnt have too much of a bad effect. From everyone that Ive talked to, they say they have had no problems with premature wear. Again, today is the first time I heard about making sure i have the sport suspension.
Im crossing my fingers I find red struts...
Either way...i think im still going to chance it and put the springs on, get it realigned, and hope for the best.
Sorry...i know that doesnt really answer your question...

I think I've figured it out...
I spent a LOT of time reading/researching...and came to this thread with a LOT of information:
https://g35driver.com/forums/brakes-suspension/92682-another-g-sedan-350z-suspension-pix.html
Here is what I have concluded…
For us non-sporties (sedan)...we definitely need a strut upgrade with either the:
-350Z Unrevised Struts
-G Sport Sedan Struts
-Any G Coupe Struts
-Something aftermarket
Then the choice for springs are simple (depending on what you want):
-350Z Unrevised Springs = 1 inch drop
-G35 Coupe Springs = 1/2 inch drop
AND you always have the option of just doing springs and worrying about the pre-mature wear. Which comes to my issue/concern/problem with the whole situation…CAMBER. From what I've heard, for the 1/2 inch to a 1 inch drop, after proper alignment you won’t have to worry about camber wear. But who knows……….
Personally I would like to do a combination drop…1/2 inch in the rear and the full inch in the front.
So you coupe guys…anyone got struts and springs laying around you want to get rid of?
And the same question for you Z guys (and gals)…UNREVISED that is…
I hope this didn’t confuse you TOO much…and of course, I don’t claim to be knowledgeable, this is just what I've come across.
EDIT:
I found these spring rates as well, if that helps your decision:
350z
2003 - 2004 - 350Z oem spring rates - 314/342
2004.5 - 2006 - 350Z oem spring rates - 314/427
Coupe
2003 - 2004 - G35 coupe with oem 17's or 18's spring rates - 314/342
2005 - 2006 - G35 coupe with oem 19's - 314/427
Sedan
2003 -2006 - G35 sedan AT and MT with sport suspension spring rates - 314/342
2003 - 2006 - G35 sedan non sport spring rates - 283/308

Not too sure why you'd want the unrevised shocks? Even the Z guys that I've run talked to do everything they can to get out of the unrevised junkers. But maybe those have the ride quality you're looking for? Just something to think about. You should check on my350z.com, you'll find plenty of complete unrevised suspensions for sale there.
So G Coupe or 350Z
Superb job timsam....It seems like the other guys are really liking their all Z set-up, so now I'm torn about going with an all coupe set-up or the 350z unrevised set-up...may depend on what's easier to find...
Thanks for the help amigo and good luck...

No problem...all that research helped me greatly too...
I'm setting up a purchase on Unrevised Springs for now and will test to see exactly how much it messes with the non-sport struts...
Then from there make the next steps to see if I want the coupe springs in the back, and then upgrade struts...
Good Luck Bud! I have a few links to people selling Unrevised springs if you want!
