General DFW city question
General DFW city question
My family is moving this week, tomorrow actually to Dallas. Luckily for me, next week is my anniversary and I have to make this one count. I have some questions on stuff I would like to do for it if someone could PM me I would appreciate it. Wanting to the romantic norm... nice dinner, carrige ride...
Sorry for the question but I don't know the city at all.
Thanks all,
Chris

Dinner
Asked the wife...
She said any restaurant around Victory Park or Uptown. For example, N9NE, Steven Pyles, Craft in the W, Dragonfly at Hotel Zaza, Nobu, etc.
It will be hard to find a carriage ride this time of year...
We have a nice site www.guidelive.com ... that gives a good overview of things in Dallas.

ive heard n9ne is a nice place to eat... ive never eaten there but i did like nick and sams in uptown... its really pricey but very intimate if you call and make a reservation and let them know the occasion... its on maple ave in uptown... went there for my bday and it was like 350 for all food and alcohol for 4 ppl so i guess you could count on prob half that for just the two of you
Well... if you're into contemporary style ish...
I would say go do the W.
Depending on how much 'chedda' you want to spread around, its a one stop shop of romantic-ness...
I would do dinner at Craft, or there is a nice steak house (I think its called "9") across the street (make reservations its very popular), and then stay at the W for a night.
The view is spectatular, you get floor to celing windows, a large balcony (depending on what $ room you get), its very nice and the people are sooo courtious.
Call there, ask for Eloy, he's the consierge. (sp?)
He's the bomb... he'll help you out with whatever.
I know all this because i proposed to my wife on one of those balconys almost a year ago exactly.
It aint cheap, but hey, it was a "once in a lifetime" thing, so I said F it.
Good luck, let us know what you end up doing!

Thats nice without all the contemporary hype... another good option.
+1 I've been to the ******* and to the W, both great places! The ******* is very Texan, so if you are moving here from out of state, you should definitely check it out. I haven't been to reunion tower yet, that would be a uniquely Dallas place to go, but I don't know about the atmosphere, maybe someone can chime in.

+1 on the W and Craft. I stayed there the night of the wedding!

I was really wanting to keep dinner to around 100 - 150.
I will check those carrige ride places out. Indy still does carrige rides this time of year so I imagine they would here because it's warmer.
Thanks for all the great suggestions guys. I have a lot of work to do...
