Does the Rav4 really get that much better gas mileage? I can still get over 20mpg highway in the G if I have a light foot, the last trip I took to Austin I think I got around 23mpg. Maybe that's the difference between the manual and auto trannies at that point ... or maybe you just have a lead foot!
What made you so dead set on a Rav4 for a 2nd car?

I'm running 440 injectors, Walbro fuel pump, have bigger/heavier wheels, have an auto...best mpg I've gotten is around 18.5 recently.
When my G35 was getting fixed at the end of 06, I had a RAV4 for a rental and really liked it. RAV4 has awesome reviews as well and scores highly with car magazine editors. I also need the room and I don't want to daily drive the G35 anymore w/ the facelift it's getting.

Congrats on the new ride!
Glad you found exactly what you were looking for.
Wow, you guys are getting some pretty bad mileage.. I seem to be doing a lot better with the G, that is until some idiot in front of me going slow decides to speed up when I try to pass them and I floor the gas pedal because I don't even want to see them in my rear view
The GTI get's 32 mpg though, so any long trips will be in that!

Yeah I guess I didn't think about the injectors/fuel pump ... but really that only makes a difference when you're at the top of the duty cycle pushing the highest boost. If our tunes are similar, we should be at about the same A/F throughout the rev range and therefore using the same amount of fuel. I may be running slightly less boost and you could also be running slightly more rich but that's better than burning a piston ![Smilie](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
And I'm not ragging on the Rav4 by any means, just wondering why you had that picked out. Nissan doesn't really have a compact SUV like the Rav4 and Toyota's are great cars. We have a '99 4-Runner with 110k that looks and runs like new, I'm sure it will run to well over 300k with standard maintenance.
