Now that I have 4 new Dunlop shoes on the wheels I've been trying to get an alignment to prevent the drastic wear on the insides of the rear tires...

After trying 4 different shops to get my alignment done (2 couldn't get the car on the rack, Grubbs said their alignment bars would scratch the wheels, and Tom's Brake Alignment with pits just didn't want to deal with it) I finally brought it to Dallas Frame & Alignment today.

As soon as I pulled up at Dallas F&A this morning, the one tech came up and mentioned how much negative camber he sees visually all the way around and I was like yeah, that's why I'm here! The tech's name was Josh and he was awesome ... brought me under the car and showed me everything. Right now I'm running -2.5° camber on the front wheels and my rears are -2.25° on the passenger side and -1.75° on the drivers side. The biggest problem is the left rear toe is already maxed out and it's still toed in quite a bit.

So this leaves me with the problem I've seen many others here do ... replace the rear toe bolts. Josh said the left rear toe is maxed probably due to the knuckle that sits next to the back side of the rotor dust shield is probably out of wack. The cheapest and easiest way to try to compensate for the knuckle being out of wack is to just go with the aftermarket toe bolts that allow for more adjustment.

So does anyone know if I can those these toe bolts locally or do I need to order them from SPC?

The next issue is my front camber which can only be cured by going with the SPC (or like) A-arms. Same question there ... can I get those locally or do I need to order those directly from the manufacturer or other online shop?

 

Not many local shops I know of that carry G35/350Z items in stock, so you'll probably have to order online.

I personally do have a set of Top Speed front camber arms sitting in my garage if you're interested in them. They're copies of Cusco arms and don't allow a whole lot of positive adjustment.

 

Jon, I'm not too sure about the rear toe, but I will always plug the guys down at SPL Parts. Just call and talk to Kuah about your needs, they're very helpful and they sell top notch products (albeit a bit pricey compared to the competition). If you'd known about this problem six months ago, I could have sold you the front camber set for cheap!

Anyway, I don't know where SPC is located, but SPL Parts is just right down the road in Austin. So that's as local as you'll get compared to somewhere in Cali, perhaps. Good luck, man!

 

So I text'ed Jeremy (onebadG) and he pointed me to where the SPC toe/camber bolts are sold on ebay. I just can't believe a pair of bolts can be sold for $75!!! So g35man04 told me he got his from THMotorsports (forum sponsor) and they seem to have the same exact SPC Cam Bolt Kit for $25!?!? I need to call THMotorsports to make sure this is the same thing but it sure seems like it!

William, thanks for the offer but I think the main reason I would go with the SPC A-arms would be to bring my fronts a good 1° - 1.5° more positive. I will research what you have and see if it would make sense for me and I will let you know. The SPC front camber adjustment kit looks pricey!

Also if I were you I would by the rear camber kit from them...just dont get the bolts...get the whole thing..

I got the Rear Camber Bar and Toe Bolts as well as the SPC front upper A-Arms.

Rockauto.com has an alignment kit for $22.79 that looks like the SPC toe bolts.

 

thats all you get though is the Toe bolt...that will not fix his whole issue.....why wouldnt you deal with THmotorsports again? I havent had any issues with them..

 

What else comes in a toe bolt kit besides toe bolts?

 

Had an issue that TH Motorsports didn't really care about until I left negative feedback for him. Only after leaving negative feedback, he started to really pay attention to me so I wouldn't tarnish his reputation. We resolved the issue, but it wasn't a fun experience.

A lot of people don't have issues w/ him, this was quite a while ago and I think he learned from it. I don't judge a company by how many good transactions they have. I judge them on how they deal with the bad transactions, and he didn't fare too well.

 

if you order the whole Camber kit you get the Camber arm and Toe bolts. If you order just a toe bolt kit you only get the bolts....

 

yeah understandable with that...thats the way I felt with Kinetix...by the way I think my new Kinetix that I just had installed are ruined....meaning the honeycombs are gone in them..or its clogged some how again.

 

Rear camber really doesn't wear out tires that badly, just make sure your toe is correct and you're good to go.

Why do you think they're clogged?

 

I think that the honeycombs are screwed up again...because there is barely any air coming out the exhaust pipes in the back....

 

I don't know how you keep clogging up like that if you AFR is on point and not dumping fuel.
