Eagles Canyon?

After this weekend of fun, I started to wonder about other tracks around DFW. I heard some folks tallk about Eagles Canyon.

http://www.eaglescanyon.com/2008/facilities.php

Looks like Driver's Edge has an event next month.

http://www.thedriversedge.net/02_tracks.htm

The track looks a bit intimidating. Two more straights, if the 2.5 mile track is used. The straights appear to a little bit longer, yet you dive into hairpin turns.

Has anybody tried this track?

Looks to be $295, which is kind of on the high side.

Oh yeah ... I knew that event would get the juices flowing again firefox

Check out the thread in the Events section that Gword256 has kept updated, he has all the info you could want: Performance Driving Events ("Racing") in the DFW and Surrounding Areas

TDE events are usually 2 days and run ~$295 per event...

ECR is a GREAT track...multiple high speed straights. Ive done it in a Z06 so I could hit 120 a few times.

However, beware this track is brutal on Brakes...be sure to bring supplies to bleed, if you have them. And any extra brake parts you have lying around.

Ive actually signed up the the June TDE event with my 350z...so it should be VERY interesting! Hope to see yall out there!

Man, I'm not sure if I can handle two days. It must be brutal in 100 deg weather.

I've gone to that track with a friend of mine and seen many people go off track, lol. Which is not as friendly as MSR's off track experiences, as there are little rocks and stuff. Talking to people there they said the track is hardest on your brakes... It is much closer to me than MSR, but MSR might be easier on my car..

HAHA..."little rocks" is an understatement....

That place is HORRIBLE if you go off...they still need to level out everything...there are still DEEP tractor marks in the ground around the track. Hopefully they will level it out and clean it up in the future. It seems to be a VERY nice track!

As far as brakes...you are correct. It is the hardest...120mph down to 30mph multiple times...is not so nice! The last time I was out there PST (TDE's sponsored shop) had a wait time of 3 hours for a brake system bleed. OUCH! So if you decide to go to ECR, bring supplies to bleed at the track!

I agree with you...MSR is nicer on your car, however if you want high speeds and a little more challenging track, ECR is your answer...it is FUN!!!

This G3 MSR event, has my juices flowing, and I cant wait to get some real time in. I think im going to try to head up to Hallett in OK this weekend for High Speed Touring.

Im going to try and get in as many TDE events that i can...i just need money...haha...
