So I need an ipod adapter and I was thinking about either one of these.

There are so many out there now it's hard to know which ones are decent. I bought mine off ebay quite a while ago and it's awesome ... can control the iPod through the stock radio controls and it was about $120 iirc. The worst part is that you have to plug it in to the back of the stock radio which means pulling apart the dash.

I took my baby to cartoys and bought the parts and had it installed for 300... That also included a part that reduced the noise that comes from the engine that will feedback into your car speakers.. it's a high frequency that'll drive you nuts if you don't get it..

Will save you from having to take the dash out yourself.. Mine is wired through my CD Changer input and I had the wire run through one of the cupholders, so I can just close the cupholder door and everything still looks stock.. (true you have to give up one cupholder, but no one can see your ipod out in the open).. I too can control everything w/the stock radio or the steeringwheel.. Just can't change the album.. So you'll rely on playlists if you don't want to have to interract w/ the ipod at all.. You can switch the song on the current album, but not go from album to album.. That's the ONLY drawback.. Best mod for my ride so far... LOVE IT.
