How many of you use a planner?
How many of you use a planner?
I know for the longest time I didn't use any formal type of organization for my errands, schedule, and day to day life. Ever since I started using a planner, things have become much more productive. Whenever I think of something that needs to be done, I jot it down in the planner. When it's complete I cross it out.
I highly recommend everyone to use one. Franklin Covey makes great stuff that business people use.

I use Franklin Covey.... It helps if you stick with it. I actually use a hybrid of 3 things that I have found work best for me. I try to write everything down and take notes because I can't remember crap....
1. I use the FC planner for my overall calendar to keep track of travel plans, events, etc. I also keep some notes and record contact information when I am on the phone, and any notes related to the phone conversation. I also record any tasks, due dates, etc. that would not be in Outlook on the day-to-day calendar.
2. I use outlook (on my laptop, Blackberry, and iPhone) to keep up with day-to-day meetings.
3. I use a full-size notebook for notes from meetings, or notes on projects I am working on.
I like the Franklin Covey planner, but I have so many meetings that I take notes at, I usually run out of room and make a mess of the planner if I try to do it in one place. I have also found it is redundant in this day and age to put meetings in Outlook and the planner. With the Outlook calendar on both my cell phones, and laptop, it is not needed.
Franklin Covey actually offers a class around here on using their planner. It sounds kind of stupid, but if you are new to the planner, it actually helps and they offer some good tips. My work actually paid for me to go.

My Blackberry is my first line of defense. As I mentioned, I have to write things down, and that is where the planner/notebook come in for me. I talk to 50 people a day, all about a different problem they are having, and I will forget about 2/3 of it by the end of the day....
I've lived by my Palm Pilot (Treo, etc) for about the last 8 years as my central organizer and I have recently moved over to a blackberry. All you'll ever need ... and all paperless

I've been using a Franklin Covey now for 8 yrs, and even had the software installed on my Treo phone when I had it. I have to keep track of multiple stores/people in the dfw area, so it's the only thing that keeps me sane.
