Does anyone know what the black valve looking things are on the HR y-pipe? I have those on my mufflers, and was wondering what the are....

The black things on each side are dynamic vibration absorbers. They move out of sync at the natural frequency of the exhaust shaking(think of a tuning fork vibrating). This damps the exhaust shake you get on some cheaper cars when you hit a bump or take off fast and get a little driveline shake.

Is there any advantage to getting the OEM 350Z ypipes for HRs as opposed to trying to hookup some used aftermarket Ypipes for the 350Z?
I keep seeing aftermarket ypipes on 350Z forum.

I think they will. Looks like the Kakumei y-pipe for the FX that will fit AWD.

How would a HR Y pipe sound paired with Megan resonated test pipes Would it eliminate the rasp while making a deeper and louder OEM sound?

most likely not because your allowing it to flow more..IMO would cause more rasp

03' track... Soon to be race car.
listen to the video of my car at the gss dyno day....i have the HR y-pipe, nismo muffler(w/extended tips), and Megan V2 resonated test pipes.....it is a lil raspy. but i can live with it until i can afford to fab up my exhaust
btw....my car ended up being alot louder than expected.
