From the looks of your pics,you live around Murphy?I used to hang around 544 and Murphy alot haha.Cousin is a senior at Plano East.

My cousin lives right in front of Tom Kimbrough Stadium.We hangout whenever we can.We usually go to 24 Hour Fitness right next to the new Lowe's.

Hmm I have seen a IP coupe around there.I might go tonight or sometime next week.Last time I worked out was maybe a week ago,so I feel a little flabby.

Love them.. Got them off of waijai when he was demodding.. Love the improved burst I get (can't tell you HP gains cuz I've never dynoed ). Also love the sound.. That coupled w/ my 1/2" spacer, and intake and pop charger make it sound mean as hell.. Even for a NA.

FYI, since you're an AT as well so you MUST get a grounding kit.. Kills the lag and jerk you get in manumatic mode.. A MUST for ATs. Also Mad_A does a hell of a tune when you finish w/ your bolt ons. PM SxExCx for the grounding kit, worth EVERY penny.

NA stands for naturally aspirated...non forced induction.

hey Twalls - i know it was already asked, but how much of a SOUND difference did the HFCs make (since you added them a while after all of your other breather mods)? is there any noticeable rasp or just an increase in loudness? i really want to hear the sound difference since i am thinking about throwing some on (and i have basically the same light mods that you do, so it would sound the same).

any advice would be great.

Ok.. upon first installing them (being the novice that I am w/ modding), I was surprised by the sound because I was so used to my intake sound (roar at WOT, and whistle around 2k RPM) and that was it.. If you hit the throttle hard, nice little rumble.. Ok.. Kewl..

BUT MAN!!!

So the HFCs were installed and it's a WHOLE 'Nother sound because the source of the sound is coming from under you PLUS the intake sound. It's not even necessary to open up the throttle as much to hear an aggressive sound. There's a really nice ROARUMBLE (yeah, I just made that up, but you'll understand soon enough) as soon as you press the gas, because the escaping air gets out of your exhaust system so fast.

If you're really used to how your intake sounds then it'll take some getting used to because you haven't heard exhaust sound. Yes, you will hear rasp at first compared to just hearing the swallowing of air into your intake by itself. But this will eventually subside to your ear.. You'll come to like it as I did, and I'm very particular about sounds.. I'm a producer on the side, so frequencies can annoy me easily.. W/ the Berks in particular, I don't notice any drone, so that's good.. But I bought mine used.. (Thanks again waijai) I have heard that during the "break in period" w/ Berks you can hear some drone at certain RPMs, but that goes away as well..

There is DEFINITELY a difference in the amplitude of sound.. I was contemplating getting an exhaust system prior to installing the Cats.. But now, NO NEED!! Plus I'm still NA, and it'd just be a waste of money because your car doesn't displace enough air to really benefit from the increased diameter of the pipes when it's naturally aspirated.

Apart from the sound increase you'll get, you'll also NOTICE a nice gain as well.. HFCs are prolly the best air mod you can add to our cars next to spacers from an HP increase perspective due to just logically adding more space for air to escape (sorry, don't have a dyno to show you my gains).

That's not really accurate... sure, you don't wanna go 4" dual exhaust or anything crazy, but the stock configuration is built very conservatively. A nice 2.5" to 3" can very nicely increase the velocity of your exhaust flow. The key to good exhaust on NA is to maintain a high velocity, which if your pipes are too big, there's none, just as if they're too small there's none.

Just thought I'd share that... sorry for potential thread hijacking
