Buying a new Camaro better bring this 68 point check list.
There is one at the buick gmc store at Lemmon/Love Field. It has 150 miles on it. Its an automatic. I turned off the traction control, drove it like I stole it and took it back. Asking price was like 40. I'd take a stang over the Camero. Sorry GM.
That is really sad. Just sitting in one I felt like I was in a stang. It didn't feel like a sports car at all.
Some of you should take a moment to get down from your high horses. As the original owner of an 03 G35c I can tell you the G had many problems the first year as well. In fact it wasn't really till 05 that things seem to settle down. Pretty much any first year model is going to have noticeably more problems than subsequent years. The Camaro is brand spanking new, it'll take a year or two in order to get everything ironed out. There is nothing like having the hot new car before everyone else but you do pay for being an early adopter. That's just the nature of the beast.
You make a very good point. I knew a few people that had some serious trouble with their 03/04's... one guy in our local Nissan group had an 04 that was just a lemon in every way.
My 03 Z had many issues, and that was the reason I got rid of it.... Too much to deal with for a new car. I still don't think the whole first year thing is an excuse, and people have the right to b!tch about it. If you don't, dealers will never fix the issues.
I can't say that I have had any problems with my 1st production G37. Of course, I still b!tched on the survey about the little things. Sure enough, the 09's came out with a lot of little things fixed. Such as the washi door handles, 7AT, and self-healing paint. However, most will agree that it was actually better to buy the first year, first production G37. I have the better navi, better tranny, and I can actually detail my car (can't buff self-healing paint).
