Carbon Fiber repair?
hey, I've been away from the forums for a while... cf cannot be repaired technically speaking. when they "repair" it, they really just patch it and it never looks the same (assuming you're not painting it). If you're going to paint over it anyway, then yes, it can be patched.

i didnt think u really could since it's in weaves. the new cf diffuser came in on friday and that $hit has defects in the cf and is noticeable. it also has some scrathes on the clear coat. i was not at home when it was received so i couldnt inspect it
. Vivid Racing said they should be able to swap it, but Chargespeed's note says differ. FOK, i hope they do cause i dont want to pay for that $hit for the 3rd time.

the amount of time it would take repairing it to 'patch' it and blend the carbon in to look close to new wouldnt be worth it.. better to just buy another one.
plus after the repair the part would be heavier

I'm talking about his original bumper here, and I'm not concerned about saving the carbon fiber. I'd paint that part black. I have a fiberglass kit. Depending on the condition, I'd take a shot on repairing it. (for the right price)

I'm going to suggest that you contact the body shop that I use, I've seen a few repairs that they've done and a more than enough custom pieces. Contact Tommy @ Complete Auto Body/Aerokits 817.795.2770
Just bring it by his shop or send him some good photos and he'll be able to tell you what he can do for you. I've already asked him about your part you need repaired, so just give him a quick buzz.
Good Luck!

Not to sound rude, but carbon fiber cannot truly be repaired. Its like repairing a torn sheet. You can sow the ends back together, but its impossible to make it look like it originally did.
