Car too low for Sewell to work on
Went by Sewell today to get the recall repair done for the fuel hose. They got it in the shop on the lift, but they weren't able to raise the lift. The car was basically sitting on the side skirts.
Looks like I'll have to remove my side skirts first before taking it over there.

FUEL FILLER HOSE MAY CRACK FROM EXPOSURE TO OZONE. FUEL MAY LEAK FROM THE HOSE DURING REFUELING. OWNERS MAY BE WARNED OF THIS CONDITION BY ILLUMINATION OF THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AS A RESULT OF THE ONBOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DETECTING A LEAK IN THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM.
Curtis is familiar with working on lowered cars. Plus he is the best technician I've ever worked with. (being that I work with twelve dealerships and counting) They have two different kinds of lifts. What he does with my car is back it up to the ramp lifts then wedges supports that we made about four inches away from the side skirts underneath the car. Then he has his assistant back down on the ramp while he watches to make sure there is good contact on the supports. Works every time. My car has been on the lifts numerous times. I work on my car there about once a month. Mostly just to inspect it. The safe bet is to get parts only. DIY That's if they'll separate with the parts!

They had those little supports to wedge underneath the lift points, but he said my side skirts were still too low to ensure a safe lift. Forgot the name of the guy that explained it to me. I believe he was shop foreman...bald head, black guy.
I tried to get parts, but this was for a recall notice and they weren't allowed to just give parts away for it. Liability issue if I don't put it on right or whatever.
