It's very easy if you have a basic socket set and know how to use it you can do it. FYI Walmart has some of the cheapest prices on oil that I have found. Any hoo you have to jack the car up to get under it the jacking points are along the frame rails on each side between the wheels you will see a spot molded into the side moldings that's where you jack the car up remember to use jack stands. After that you just loosen the oil plug bolt and let the the oil out and remove filter and then just reverse the steps and that's it. The car holds just over 5 qts I believe maybe 5 and 1/2. Also google search for your G's year FSM (factory service manual) that will be a great tool if you want to know what everything looks with great info on your G. I hope this helps let us know if you have any more questions. Kirk

Thanks for the info Kirk. From what I've seen it looks like I'll need two jacks to get the car up. Is that the only way?

^^^ YES...and if the G is ANYTHING like the Z you have to take off the underpanel. That way you can "see" everything..from there its CAKE.. Ive got all the FSMs. Where are you located - if your close, Im willing to help if you bring beer...Dos XX's would work...12 pack..

Honestly - takes about 30-45 mins TOPS..thats taking your time too..

You can get two 3 ton jack stands right now from Harbor Freight for 20 bucks or 30 bucks (I forget)...then a 10 mm for the under panel and a 14mm to take off the oil pan drain plug..if the oil filter is super tight - you will need something to take that hoe off too..

GL holmes.

I like to pull mine up onto ramps instead of using jacks. Once you get the underbody panel off it is one of the easiest oil changes you will ever do.

I forgot about the under panel it's got about 12 10mm bolts/screws to deal with and then it's a piece of cake. The ramps are a good idea too I just have a lowered car so I can't use them but if your stock ride height that is a fast way to get the job done.

There are tons of threads on this, but I use 5W-30 Castrol Syntec with a Wix filter. I'll probably give Castrol Edge a try next time though since it's only $2 more for a 5 quart jug.

Just got done. Simple procedure just too many screws on the bottom cover to take off. Other than that pretty simple. Used Castrol Syntec Edge with Bosch oil filter. Had a special for 5 quarts and the filter for $29.99. Can't beat that. Castrol oil is $7.49 Qt and the filter was 13.49. So I saved like 20bucks.

Just did mine today as well as the wife's SUV with Amsoil 5w30 and Wix filters. It's an easy job, OP, don't let it worry you. In fact, when you're done, you'll wonder why you even worried about it. You can use something like Rhino ramps or make your own with 2x8's or similar. If you loosen each of the 10mm bolts, you can zap 'em out quick with a cordless drill fitted with a 10mm socket or a Phillips screwdriver bit.

Edit: here's a DIY vid from bythabay...
