Having a new stock engine dropped

About a month ago I started hearing a funny clicking sound in the engine. Took it into Swell Infiinti off Lemmon to get it check on. They told me that it has about 2 quartz of oil left. I was like WTF ...is it leaking oil or something. They told me that there was oil consumption in the engine. The put in fresh oil and told me to drive it for 1,000 miles and come back. Still the same problem. So they took it to the back and stated that they will call me later to tell me what the problem was. Ends up that I had a jacked piston ring. Told me that they will have to replace the block. I was like HELL YEAH...thank GOD I bought the extended warranty with no deductible...lucky me huh!

Dang bro, sounds like that extended warranty paid for itself! How many miles did the engine have?

The old engine had about 67k. Also hear this, when the original warranty was up, I went ahead purchased the extended warranty for another 3 years/30,000miles with no deductible and not even a week after that my clutch went out. They told me that my clutch slave cylinder went out. I swear my car is jinks but at least everything is pretty much new. So will see how this new jinks works out.

Any upcoming meets here in the Dallas Area. I haven't been to one in awhile. I need to catch with all the G members.

this is a well known problem among our cars.. AND if ur g is an 05 like your screename says, you were still under factory 6yr 70,000 mile powertrain warranty... clutch save cylinder might have been covered under this warranty as well..

My warranty was a 5yr 60,000 mile but yes this is a common problem on G's I've heard. I did some investigating and found out that I had to replace the clutch line to a stainless steel because our G's are rubber made and they flex pretty bad in hot conditions like in the summer.

All g's come with a factory 4yr/60,000mi bumper to bumper and 6yr/70,000mi powertrain warranty..

Even if u bought it used. Unless it was salvaged.. But then again, it might still b covered..
