wouldn't this have less to do with speeders and more to do with people who just run red lights?? i've seen countless people doing 10 under the limit who run lights...

either way, good to know. i usually err on the side of caution since that's a total waste of $75 or whatever it is that they slap you with.

how is a Passport going to keep you from running red lights?

i'm not talking about being cautious with my speed - i'm talking about being cautious about running yellow/red lights (which is what that website is related to).

and for what it's worth (since you're talking about speed) - Plano tends to use a fair amount of laser. A Passport (or any detector) ain't gonna save you from that. Trust me on this one (or don't and come back in 7 or 8 years and we can chat )

The passport 9500ix is the first detector with GPS and red light camera locator. A voice will let you know on the radar when your approaching a red light..

If u wana save urself after you have already ran a red light..

Or...you could just not run red lights

they have had the cameras in Plano for years now and i have yet to get a ticket from them. it's really not that hard - i don't understand what the big deal is or why people go to such lengths to "avoid" the cameras (usually in a manner that is illegal in the state of Texas). i've had friends who have been severely injured due to dumba$$es who can't do something as simple as stop at a red light. if a person is not capable of stopping at a red light then they shouldn't be allowed to drive on the road. period.

disclaimer - no, i am not a "perfect" driver by any means. yes, i drive over the limit and yes i know i violate traffic laws. however, i also accept the consequences of those actions and try to minimize any danger that i might be causing for other motorists. in my opinion, things like these "camera detectors" do nothing but make the driver lazy and put them in a false sense of security. once that happens, a driver will be far less concerned about what is happening on the road and it will make it that much more likely for them to cause an accident due to their inattentiveness.

just my two cents from experience.

@ tony, VV made his point pretty clear. But there is not "backing out" because this is no war. Like i said, i found this site and found it interesting and thought id share it. Lol i notice VV is passionate on his views but this thread had nothing to do with pushing views. Simply, i just thought id share what ive found.
