ls1 question

does anyone know of any local shops that can do an ls1 swap in my g? i need mount fabrication and harness work...let me know if anyone has any ideas.

Kustomz Unlimited ... they did Nate's S13 V8 swap

they want 9k just for the swap not including the engine or tranny...seems a little steep.

I know SnyperZ can do it but he isnt local.... U can pm him on here.

im still lookingfor a gto drop still. not many completes its either the long or short. finding a t56 has also been a pain.

shop around, not many shops are willing to do it

^ive noticed...i found an ls1 with 24k mls for 1900 with 6 spd tranny. i just can't justify paying 9 grand to put it in...i know there has to be modification to the firewall and all, but still.

- Inclusion of power steering & air conditioning.
- Modification of exhaust system
- Modification of the cooling system
- Modification of the transmission/driveshaft
- Wiring
- Engine Management
- Fabrication of the motor mounts
- Fabrication of the transmission mounts

If you're serious, go up there and talk to them and he'll break down every single price. He said he would drop the motor in for $1500 which would just include the mount fabrication. Everything else encompasses the rest of the $7500.

^^^ thats what you would pay for twin turbo (done right) if not more.... I would love to do NA LS1 all engine action... Ive been thinking about this as well.

I give you props for the idea but talk about a nightmare if things don't go right, your car would never be the same. Keep us posted though.

This is very true. It isn't as simple as dropping it in and wiring it up. There will be a lot of cussing and swearing, money, and blood.
